Garden of Health

Garden of Health is a non profit that helps people have access to healthy food and teaches them how to garden for fruits and vegetables.

Garden of Health collects foods that are gluten free, no added sodium, sugar free (and no artificial sweetners but stevia is ok) and foods free of one or more of the top 8 allergens. The top 8 allergens are: Wheat, nut, peanuts, eggs, dairy, fish, shell fish, soy. See the list below for some ideas for donations.

Sunbutter (This is the brand name. It is a peanut butter alternative)

Sugar free jams and jellies (Please check and make sure they don’t have any artificial sweetners. Stevia is ok)

Brown rice

Any 'Enjoy Life' Food Products (This brand is free of the top 8 allergens)

Blue Diamond Unsweetened Almond Milk (this brand is shelf stable and doesn’t contain carrageenan)

Soups that a heart healthy (Health Valley)

Gluten free soup brands (Progresso-Cream of Mushroom, Potato Broccoli and cheese, Chicken & Rice; Gluten Free Café, Dr. Mac Dougall’s, Pacific Organic and Amy’s also make gluten free soup. Please read labels and make sure they say gluten free)

Spaghetti Sauce (read labels not all varieties are gluten free, choose brands with NO added sugar, and goal for no added salt)

Certified Gluten Free Oats

Lance Gluten free Peanut Butter and Cheese Crackers (Giant and Walmart carry them)

No added salt condiments

No added sugar condiments (please check and make sure they are also artificial sweetner free. Stevia is ok)

Sugar free oatmeal packets

Kind bars and Kind pressed fruit bars

Stevia sweetners for diabetics (One of the food pantries we support gives out over 70 diabetic bags a month)

Gluten free crackers (Blue Diamond Nut Thins, Crunchmaster, Milton’s)

Go Raw Snacks

Gluten Free pretzels (Synder’s, Glutino, Live G Free)

Gluten Free Bisquick

Sugar free pancake syrup and pure maple syrup

Dried Fruits and seeds

Gluten free bread crumbs

Most of food pantries have a good share of clients are homeless so we are looking for healthy gluten free allergy friendly Jerky. This is a way for them to get protein and they can close the bag to keep it fresh for days.

Aldi’s Simple Nature Marinara Sauce (the only one I have found that is soy free or was the last time I checked the label)

Wegman’s canned tuna is the only one I know of that is soy free (Soy is one of the top 8 allergens)

Vegan Mayo

Healthy oils (avocado, cold press olive oil, coconut oil -this is an allergen but anyone who is not allergic to nuts could use)

Single spices (last time I checked on google all McCormick Single spices were gluten free)

Gluten free broths (check labels there are several brands)

No added sodium broths

Lundberg Organic Whole Grain Rice side dishes are gluten free
